Blue, apricot and brown “just a note” card

'Just A Note' card“Just a Note” card

This card qualifies for two challenges. First, it is based on the sketch by Julee Tilman for the Meet The Verve Divas part 7. I really love her sketches, and it’s about time that I actually made a card from one! It also qualifies for Color Throwdown #7 where the colours for this week are Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal and Ballet Blue. I used the closest papers I had, as well as dark brown as the neutral colour to ‘bind it’ together.

The apricot rectangle was stamped and embossed with clear ink and embossing powder, and the sentiment is also embossed. I just love this designer paper – I have been looking for an excuse to use it on a card 😀

Autumn teddy “thank you” card

Thank You cardAutumn Teddy “Thank You” card

Thank You cardI made this card especially for this I{heart}2stamp Sketch Challenge, but couldn’t post it in time… Oh well, next time then 🙂
I have to say I really enjoyed colouring the teddy bear! Autumn Teddy "thank you" card CU2 I haven’t had that much fun with pencils and ink pads in a loooong time. I also used my favourate papers by The Paper Loft – I’ve used them (different ones from the same collection) before to make my Autumn Joy card and I think they are absolutely beautiful.

Dreamy silhouette card

Dreamy silhouette card“Dreamy Silhouette” card

I saw this amazing stencil from The Craft Workshop at my LSS a while back, and since then all the beautiful things I could make with it have been haunting me… Dreamy silhouette card CUSo the other day I just had to buy it, and this card represents its official inauguration 🙂 As usual shimmer does not show up well in photos, but I used White Brilliance ink (which has a subtle shimmer) to do those beautiful leaves and butterfly silhouettes. It’s just wow! This is one of those “you have to see it in real life” cards to really appreciate it. I am extremely proud of the end result, although my head is already spinning with an “upgraded” version 2!

Not to mention that it qualifies for TWO challenges! First, I based it on the sketch from OCC (Our Creative Corner). I wanted the paper with silhouettes to be the main focus (thus to be as large as possible) so I made the card square, and the tulle and sentiment looked awkward at the top so I moved everything to the bottom. So I did make slight adjustments to the layout, but I think it was for the better :-).

It also qualifies for the Am I A Scrap Addict Blogoversary Challenge #4 where the challenge was to use the colour brown with any pastel colour(s).
